I find the notification is much quieter than it is in my Flex. Combined with the lack of a windshield HUD flasher, it can be rather easy to miss the alert.

I intentionally came up on a stopped car quickly to ensure the alert system worked but didn't have the courage to wait until emergency braking kicks in -- the system won't necessarily prevent a collision and may only reduce the severity. Don't feel like crushing a bumper to test it out.

The Flex has Collision Warning with brake support, but doesn't technically have automatic emergency braking. It can give increased braking when alerting but won't brake on its own aside from the minor amount for adaptive cruise. If i accelerate to make a spicy lane change and get too close to a bumper, it'll alert and I can definitely feel the brake support try to slow me down to avoid hitting the car.

The Bronco should be similar but probably more refined since it gets additional data from a vision camera. It's nice having a vehicle now that can actually detect stopped cars; radar-only systems can't differentiate between stationary objects and the ground.

Here's a vid of my AEB activating. The asshat in front of me stopped mid intersection and those breaks kicked in hard. Worked as advertised.

In the video, it seems delayed. As if you would have hit him.

It does look like that. The brakes reacted much quicker than the audible/red screen did. When you see the nose dip, that's full auto braking.
