I purchased the IAG V2 rock rail steps in February 2024. A great addition to my Bronco, as my wife is sub 5 feet tall and even my non-SAS is a bit high for her. Everything was great, except a couple of months ago, I noticed some chipping of the power coating on the fronts:
I knew IAG had an issue a few years ago with the power coating, so I checked to see if my steps were in the bad batch. They got back to me quickly, but mine were outside that range per their customer service team.
To my surprise, they still replaced them! After 2 1/2 years, they could have told me to pound sand--and I'd have been OK, as although they have a lifetime warranty, that excludes the power coating. My option was to take them off and spray them with some bed liner to cover up the aluminum and that probably would have been just fine.
I already also have their interior light kit, which has been great and will definitely shop IAG first for additional accessories. When so many companies treat their customers poorly, IAG has proven that they are the type of company we should spend our hard-earned money with. Well done.
For those interested, the steps have held up well. Here's the originals, front and back. Just a bit of surface rust on the bottoms of the originals. They are rock solid and exceptionally well built and it's no wonder they have a lifetime warranty. I can't see these ever failing.
And finally, a comparison of the 2024 V2 step to the ones I just received. The new one is at the top and old is at the bottom. Looks like they've continued to make running changes and improvements--the new coating appears a thicker and more rubberized. Good to see a company continually tweak the product and make it better. Highly recommend IAG and their service!
