2024, Bronco. Yes, the IPOD is old. Hit and miss when it connects. When it connects it works great. Usually works with Apple play. Once its connected and I shut the truck off, its gone from the list, but not always and I have to re pair. Sometimes works right away, sometimes not at all. Something Im doing wrong?

2 suggestions , USB Drive if u don't want playlists and have data concerns. Upload your library to subscription cloud based platform and use your phone. Amazon music is my go to. Good music quality, huge selection. Wish they had The Cure Staring at the Sea singles but I have it on USB.

Sadly, I have an iPod also, it’s only purpose is carry loads of music around in a tiny form factor with screen. Apple is leaving it behind, so the auto OEMs are doing the same. Barely connects in the Bronco and never does in my Toyota or anything.

My old iPod 60GB still works great..., on it's own. But is basically a doorstop in today's wireless world. Even the old JVC head unit in my Super Duty won't connect to it anymore. Sadly, it will likely work forever meaning I can't discard it!

I use an iPod for tunes and podcasts. USB is the only way to go. I hate any other Apple product, Carplay is too controlling for me.
