It's been one month since my intro post, and I said I would start a thread to log my modifications. Might as well get started. FordPass is mighty handy for keeping track as well. I've added a service entry there each time I've done something.

First thing I did was mount the front license plate to stay on the legal side of things. I don't prefer the look of using the factory mounting point, and don't like the idea of drilling into the moulding to create a look I could avoid. With a capable bumper, options were limited. I liked the @DV8offroad mount, but it was out of stock. My temporary tags set to expire soon, so I ordered the slanted version. The day it arrived I received a text telling me the other mount was back in stock. Of course it was. The return process was uncomfortable enough that I didn't bother attempting it.
I wanted to install without removing the skid plate, so I backed out the bolts every so slightly, preventing them from falling out, and checked to see if the mount fit. Again and again and again, until there was just enough space to get it stuck. Got it out, straightened it, and returned to the process until it slid into place. Got it tightened up and called it done. I will eventually pull it back off to paint the back of the license plate flat black, as part of it is visible, and also get it centered better when it goes back on. At first I was nervous about the (lack of) visibility of the plate, but after driving with it for nearly two months, I've gotten over that. Pretty pleased with the way it looks.
