2022 Black Diamond - Build log

Going to write this down finally so I can keep track of everything and maybe help out someone along the way. Any tips or advice is welcome!


Bought it in November of '22. I didn't order it, - it was sitting on the lot because it had some damage from the dealers car wash. Sounded like the original person who ordered didn't want it anymore. Driver fender was replaced before I got there and the only damage still needing to be fixed was a dent on the A-column. Dealer took off the markup and promised to fix it all the damage ( which they did ) .

Ditch Lights ( 4x4truckLeds )
- ss3 white spot with back light. Wired to an Aux and the
- backlit wired to the same aux as the white fogs Rear

f4x4 truck Led mount fog light swap ( 4x4truckleds )
- Diode dynamic Ss3 Pro yellow SAE fog - wired to factory switch
- Ss3 Pro white combo w/ backlight - wired to Aux
- Backlight wired to same aux switch as ditch light backlight

Hood vinyl ( sitcker fab )

Hard wired GMRS radio under console ( Midland )
- MXT275
-Midland Ghost Antenna
- wired to aux switch
- Used @Bo-Ronco's "Super Clean GMRS Radio Install" thread for install advise and tips
- JCR bracket used to mount Antenna

Swapped front D-ring shackles on capable bumper with combo soft/hard shackle.
- I bought the ford performance red powder coat set
- Removed powder coating
- Cerakoted them as a test. Left a lot of texture and I really am enjoying it so far. The durability of it will be the important part of this test.
- had to trim about 3/4 of an inch or so notch out of plastic cover to fit back on

Putco Rear tailgate Molle ( amazon )
- Expensive, but a solid no drill option that had a large molle panel.

WHOAAAA that's awesome! I definitely could have used them Monday. I cant wait to see how much they help out.

I think the Large will work perfectly for my setup. The pictures on here aren't the best at showing it , but they are close to flush. I added a picture below so that way you can see if it makes sense to you as well.

Pictures like the below are really deceiving on how much poke I actually have now

I was so excited to find that thread from @Bo-Ronco , they did all the homework and really set me up for success. I saw a few different ways to mount the microphone on the thread too. Really my only call out is that the ditch lights can throw some interference on the antenna when they are on. Would be worth someone's time to look at all the options and find what's best for them.

I have actually made numerous other videos on other common accessory installs and maintenance that I haven't done anything with; such as a quick reference oil change video for the 2.7L (most all of the current videos are so wordy and long... I like videos that get straight to it)

I should probably get around to editing and posting those.
