Picked up a kicker key 200.4 works perfectly. However, I cannot get the tune right.. It sounds really flat.
Prior to key audio mods:
Dash: Kicker 47KSC404 (150mhz blockers)
6.5 kick panel (Focal rcx-165)
6.5 rear (Focal rcx-165)
8-in kicker 46L7T84 sub
JL MX300 - Sub amp
Installed just like the other posts on the key amp. gains set to 0, (read somewhere to unplug the sub so i did that)
Dip switches are set (from memory):
Auto 12v - up
fader: on
compression: off
bi-amp: off
kicker eq: on
time delay: On
*** Last two for amp 1&2 i have it set to 60Mhz
I pulled up a pink noise from spotify to play not a direct download to my phone, that was also played through carplay this could be the issue? the auto tune ran its cycle just fine no bad beeps, im wondering a couple of things..
the eq settings were all set to neutral***
Afterwards it was like a very loud tin can.. no bass at all especially from the kick panels. But there has to be a bass signal considering the sub is working? So i increased amp 1 gain and got my bass back, then increased the bass sensitivity (on sub amp halfway) which fixed it somewhat, however i still hear the tin can. My eq setting for the vehicle are treble all the way down, mid all the way up and bass middle.
Can i reset, and plug the key in and just have it push power to the speakers without the auto tune?
should I run the auto tune again with the bass?
I saw a video of a key installation which after the auto tune the mic button becomes a before and after button so you can see the "improvement" thought this was neat, i did not verify it.
open to any ideas, tia
