It's strange that you keep mentioning "bottoming out". That is one thing that I've never experienced with the factory struts/shocks and their internal stops...

He's probably topping out as they are likely maxed out due to the lift he's using with them. Those Bilsteins are position sensitive and if they aren't in their idea ride zone, they are going to feel worse than their digressive valving already makes them feel.
