While towing my trailer home from the hunting lease my Bronco went into limp-mode. I'm wondering since I have the ZFG e85 tune and I had to fill up with questionable 93 octane gas during the trip, if that could cause the problem? I tried disconnecting the battery for a while, which reset things and allowing it to generate up to 4psi boost until you pushed any harder and then the boost went completely away. I have e85 back in it now but with no help to the problem. DTC code says Powertrain Malfunction reduced no boost.
Any advice out there?

Most likely under boost or over boost.
Hopefully you didn’t hurt anything. You really shouldn’t be using 93 with the E85 tune. That’s asking for a hurt engine.

Without the actual code I don’t think anyone will know what the cause is, so that’s the first thing I’d check.

Yes I know I shouldn't have put 93 in but it was that or walk....
Actual code is P0299 and P0111

P0299 is underboost
P0111 is a range/performance code for the IAT sensor. So likely something wrong with that.

Looks like you got some help with that issue. Not to derail the thread, but your tuner didn't provide a non-ethanol tune for ya? I've ran into the same situation before (Rappy pickup) and couldn't find E85. Just retuned back to 91 while filling up and good to go.

Yes, but it does no good if you leave the tuner at home……along with the Jerry jug of e85.😑

Dangit! I’ve basically accepted the idea that we will always need to bring a computer wheeling. And after tunes are done, bring the tuner as well. Jusssssssssst in case.

Thanks. I’m going to check for leaking hose connections this evening hoping that might be the issue. My little pony will regularly make 25psi boost.

Okay, I tightened every M’Effin clamp on the pressure side. No change. But driving around with the windows down I can hear a very loud pressure leak when the boost is trying to get to 4psi. I’m starting to believe the blow off valve is not working properly.

The low boost could have something to do with the IAT sensor code, I would be checking that first before anything else

Would it cause the Blow-off valve to reduce pressure or the waste-gates?
What I'm hearing sounds like the Blow-off valve relieving.
Thanks for your help!
