So started to upgrade the speakers in my 25 HE 2-door, as most of you know the audio is horrible. I used to install my own stuff many moons ago, but I will admit, it's been a while. The 1st thing I did was swap out the sub in my 7 speaker system. This is where I got a little confused.

I looked at many posts and it seems that the Violet with green strip wire is positive and green with white stripe was negative. But coming out of the amp to the sub its 2 sets Black and Black with white stripe. I was under the impression that the black with white stripe is the negative and the solid black is positive.

The reason I ask is I was expecting a little more "thump" when I put it all back together. Now, it is still on the factory amp, which I will be upgrading to the 500.1 Kicker later this week. I just want to be sure I am good to go at this point.

Secondary topic, have most if you filled the port, or did you leave it ported. And did you fill with polyfill or leave it empty.

Thanks.

Switch the positive and negative wires going to the sub; could just be out of phase if you think it should be hitting harder.

The wiring diagrams are posted around here somewhere. I know Search sucks, but if you just use Google and search that way it seems to work better. If I had them bookmarked I would share, but alas, I don't have that one.

Secondary -- I blocked my port off and it sounded ~~much~~ better afterwards. Frequency response rounded off much better - not nearly as boomy for certain frequencies and kinda weak for others.
