Does anyone have a recommendation for a front hitch? I need something solid as it will be supporting a winch.

I have searched for this type of caddy winch set up for over a year. The general consensus is that the mounting points for the bumper can't handle it "pulling" on the hitch from odd angles and will damage the frame.

Best I can understand is that to do it properly would require a "dual hitch" setup that would spread the load over a larger area accross both front bumper mounts. This would be a unique purpose built mount that no other winch caddy (or existing bumper) configures too.

The first person to figure this out and make a matching rear and front bumper receiver that can offer a safe, practical, and universal hitch caddy mount for this purpose will have a money mint on their hands because me and all my buddies will put one (two?) on every rig we have!

I hope it happens but i am not holding my breath. No bumper or winch company is insentivised to make that style of product since it would cut into their existing business of bumper built winches and whinch built bumpers. It would make half their product lines obsolete overnight.

Catch 22. So the consumer suffers.

I'll buy a bumper TODAY if it had a front receiver hitch. Please!!! I just want to mount my surf rod/cooler rack.
