Ford interiors do not hold up. I just take the best care possible and do the environmentally responsible thing and buy more when things wear out too soon.
I would assume it came from jeans. I don’t have this in mine but I also live in SWFL and shorts are about all you need
Buy some seat covers if you're concerned about scratches. It could have been anything, metal keys, jeans, dirt/rocks, a pocket knife. Even leather scratches, if you are persistent enough. marine vinyl is good for weather, sweat, and stain resistance.

That's because it's cheap vinyl. A quality aftermarket neoprene (wet suit) is a much better choice. I have Wet Okole on my '06 Rubicon & they have performed flawlessly for years. I will be putting them on my '23 Basquatch. Put 'em over the vinyl or better, remove the vinyl first.
