Never did start a thread for it.

Ford has delayed the Painted Black Hard Top for MY2021.

Perhaps now more people would be interested in having the MIC Hard Top made black instead of grey.

Was there ever a MIC Black example? Is that what's shown on the Cyber Orange above? Doesn't look too bad and would settle for this over the Gray and instead of the painted version.

Same, but I personally don't like how shiny the painted black looks. I was hoping for the Black MIC, or whatever would match the fender flares and the handles best.

What I don't understand is why a company so sensitive to OJ's birthday would pick an exact match for Confederate Army Grey?

The MIC top is a weird thing to hate on, to me.

Grey is a neutral color, it'll look fine with any other color unlike that stupid ass Navy Pier colorway, the MIC top will shine up a tad with 303 to roughly match the grey flares, and it'll never bleach to white like every hard top to date, even if you don't maintain it by treating with 303.

Mine's getting painted an Eddie-Bauer-esque tan ASAFP, so the factory color, black or grey, doesn't do anything for me. If I were logisticizing Ford, I'd have made three initial hardtop color options, just painting or bedlining the MIC top: White, Tan, and Black... ultimately giving you four options with the Grey. Contract out the spray for a MIC top and you're done, it doesn't have to impact the assembly process at all.
