Hey so I just came across this video on getting behind the glove box, and theres a step where he unhooks the damper. However, when I went to do the same, I found that my glovebox does not have this at all! The mounting cutout/slot is there for it, but no actual damper:

Did they stop putting these on the glove box at some point? If I want one can I buy one somewhere?

Damn yeah there it is

I don't suppose there's any way I could find out the difference? I doubt anyone has made a video side-by-side. I wonder if anyone here has handled both and can report whether its worth 50 bucks to pick one up...

Up to you, but there’s a lot of things I’d spend $50 on long before a damper for my glove box door lol

I’m sure I could post a video of opening my glove box that has a damper if you want to see it though.

Yeah maybe just a video of popping the latch and then letting it drop open on its own?

That's really only the real gripe with mine is that I have to hold it while it opens cuz if I only pop the handle it drops down and bounces

Definitely a nitpick, you're right that it may not be worth spending money on but I have a desire to at least know what I'm missing out on

In the eight months that I’ve owned my Bronco, I have only opened the glovebox once. And that was to place my insurance and registration card in there.

I agree. My 2008 Toyota FJC has a glove damper. Ford is so “cheap out-y” in so many ways.

also noticed that the msrp for the bronco one is $80 yet a very similar one which you could probably do some minor 'mod' on is only $30 (R2TZ5806200A)
