Hey all,

So.. realistically I can’t imagine there’s many people like me who are waiting for the 2023 2door Manual badlands with a Mod top.. Buuuut - I haven’t placed my ordered, early res holder (would have been a 2021 delivery) and haven’t used my reservation. I was really hoping for the Mod top before that hit the fan.. I live in the PNW and we get a ton of rain/snow and let’s be honest the gunner hatch and look and utility of the Mod top look great or at least they did.

So! - what’s my move here team.
Place for the 22 model year or let my deposit build in the stock market for another year place for 2023 and hope for a new interior option without the stitching and buy the Mod aftermarket. Also sas or no sas? sucks we have to pay for the manual transmission (something no one seems to be able to answer as to why) but wouldn’t mind going 35 or 37s so I either go with the Badlands 33’s optional beadlock.

But if there’s anyone in the same boat, post up. Knowing we have price protection etc.

Post is a bit all over the place, but if you’re trying for a similar build, I’m sure you’ve been asking yourself some of the same questions

I was recently in the same boat as you. I had a 2021 order with the mod top, then Ford pushed that option to 2022, so I did the same to my order. Then, when Ford pushed the mod top to 2023, I was considering pushing my order back to 2023 as well, but then I wondered to myself how pissed I would be if they pushed it back to 2024. That's when I decided to just take the MIC top for now and I will either get a mod top later or keep the MIC if it grows on me.

I also had a dilemma over the sasquatch package. Like you, I'm getting a 2 door manual Badlands. It's ridiculous that the sasquatch package costs $4090 with the manual transmission, when you aren't gaining much except for larger tires, different wheels and larger flares. Ford is basically charging manual drivers for the automatic transmission, without giving them the automatic transmission. Also, I've heard the Goodyear MTs that come with the Sasquatch package fling rocks like crazy, so I didn't want to pay for the Sasquatch package and have to swap out the tires when I get it.

Hopefully Ford will let us buy the mod top after the fact and hopefully it won't cost a fortune.

I'm with you too, I'm 99'd for '21 and '22 waiting on white mod top. You're call on what you want but I still mentally bounce between an auto sas mid pkg BD or a manual non-sas high pkg BL with optional wheels. It's already been proven you can go 35s with non sas BL so I don't feel sas is worth the cost to me.

Not sure what's in store for '23, stitching change would be nice but aftermarket will catch up and offer choices with handles and chicklets but only way to get rid on seats is with replacing with something like katzkins and you get to choose exactly what you want.

Honestly I'm not in a hurry for my Bronco so I can wait for as close to what I want and then switch my early reservation to an order and jump back close to the top of the list you're situation might be different.

I want my Bronco! I’m taking the MIC top and will order a modular top if they ever become available. Or depending when it becomes available - just trade in my Bronco for a new one.
