If they let us mark the modular top and wait for it come Dec-Jan so that we can keep ourselves on the list I'd expect there to be a healthy backlog waiting for them to finally get into full swing. It may be well into 2022/2023 until they have excess capacity that would then be available to purchase over the counter.

The top itself may be in the $3k range, add easily $300-400 for shipping and it may not even be painted at the point it arrives. $4k is not an unrealistic estimate to add one after the fact.

Here’s my guess on the prices of the tops.

Soft $1,200
MIC $2,500
Modular $3,095

BUT, this is a guess and I’m not putting too much energy in to guessing because we will know soon enough. Hopefully.
I think you are pretty close with those numbers. I am pretty hard set on a Mod. top, so I am hoping Ford can work something out of buyers that want that option. Maybe they could have a trade-in program for soft tops as a credit toward the Mod. top for MY21 buyers? That seems crazy, but would be nice.

Seems like somewhat consistent is upgrade from soft to MIC is ~$700, and upgrade from soft to painted is ~$1900. Depends what the price of the soft top is alone, but in general I think the ballpark of the painted-modular is probably $3100~$3400 standalone, not including shipping.

TopFrom WT $1200 softFrom BL $3700 soft&MIC
Soft Top (price alone)$1200$1500
MIC Modular (alone = soft + $700)$1900$2200 (soft&MIC = $3700)
Painted Modular (alone = soft + $1900)$3100$3400

It’s $1,895 because they give you credit for the price of the soft top. That’s also why the MIC tops are so cheap.
They won’t be that cheap if ordered later through the parts counter.
No, the $1,895 isn't above the soft top, it's $1,895 above the MIC top.

If we assume that the soft top is $1,200 and the MIC top is $1,895 ($1,200 soft + $695 MIC upgrade), then the Modular top is $3,790 ($1,895 MIC top + $1,895 Modular top upgrade).

It was $1,895 to get the Mod. top, upgrading from the soft top, so Black Mod. top alone would be $1200+$1895=$3,095.
MIC top upgrade was $695, so $1200+$695=$1895 for MIC top alone.

This is assuming that the soft top is $1,200 of course...

No, when the modular top was delayed, Ford announced that the FE, WT and OBX models MSRP would be reduced by $1,895, and they would now come standard with a MIC top. So the upgrade value that Ford has assigned between a MIC and Mod Top is $1,895.

You are right, I remember seeing that. Maybe Ford was being cool and giving FE and Wildtrak buyers a free top? Doubt it, but I really don't want to spend $3,790 after vehicle purchase to get the Mod. top if that's the price... need some answers soon!!
