I’m sure there are many threads about full system upgrades but I thought I’d post mine up in case it is of interest. I am amazed at how good it sounds. I used a similar approach and the same installer who did my two door wrangler a few years ago. And went a tad higher end on my components than I did last time. I have a 2022 two door badlands so this is the basic six speaker system.

I started with Alpine R class 6.5 inch component speakers up front. Tweeter mounted in the dash and 6.5 in the lock panel locations of course.

in the back I used Euphoria 3.5 inch speakers. I wasn’t familiar with this brand but my installer likes them and they had decent reviews. I’m very happy with how they sound given their less than ideal location.

I powered these with a Diamond amp that pushes 4x100 rms. It seems to match well with the above speakers.

For the subwoofer, I chose the kicker 500.1 key amp. Part of my reasoning for choosing these two amps was their size. My guy was able to mount them both up under the front dash in the drivers side firewall and footwell area. I wanted to avoid using the floor and rear storage areas.

I used the lc7 line converter and a factory harness type connection. He was able to put the lc7 behind the glovebox.

So that brings me to the subwoofer where I had a plan, wasn’t happy, and changed approach. At first I ordered the custom box from srq customs. I assume y’all have seen it posted here before.

I listened to this for a week and just wasn’t happy. I listen to country, pop, rock and hip hop/rap. I am 45 and embarrassed to say that but it’s just reality lol. This sub would be fine for anything other than rap. Not amazing but discrete and hidden and sounded fine. But I knew I wouldn’t be happy spending this much with that as the finished product.

I went back to my installer and told him I wanted more bass and to see how much this kicker amp could push. So he hooked up a 12 inch RF punch P2D2 in a a bomb ported box. And it absolutely slams. Downside: it is huge and takes up half my trunk. I said F it. It sounded too good and I’ll just pull it out when I absolutely need the space which is rare.

Perfect fit haha. So I’m going to pull that hidden sub and box and list it on here I think. If you are interested in it drop me a line.

Don't be embarrassed about your music choice. I'm basically the same plus some EDM, and I'll be 37 next month. I like the idea of just removing the sub when you need the trunk space, but that option doesn't really work for me since I play hockey and my gear literally fills the entire trunk of my 2-door. I guess I've come to terms with the fact that I'll never have bass like I did with two 10s in my 4Runner...

My two 10 setup kills it on bass and I have it turnt down. You could try a setup similar to mine and it doesn’t take much room.

I've definitely considered using an enclosure to level the trunk with the rear seats when folded down. Yours turned out great!

It’s been great. A nice plus is I have used under the back filler panel as a place to hide stuff. With the rear door closed and top down you can’t see there is anything underneath in the cubby I created with the filler.

I really like that set up. This was going to be my next plan if the space becomes an issue.

Why pick LC7i? Any specific reason? What happen if I put just 1 LC1?

I wanted 3 channel input capability along with ability to channel sum and or use auto mode. The summing function allows you to combine multiple input signals to the main channel output. It is typically most used when connecting to a factory system that has dedicated outputs for just the highs and mids. You can use the summing function to sum those signals to create a full range output. There are many ways you can use the features to your advantage based on inputs and amps and what signal you want those amps to receive.
