It's not used by Ford. R&R is used by dealers to manage inventory, amongst many other things.

You can peel it off without triggering any type of self-destruction sequence, if that's the worry.

It's protected by the same laws that safeguard content tags on mattresses and cushions. Best to leave it intact. There might be a tracking devise on it, you never know!

Originally started way back by doing paper inventory tracking "systems" and then as everything started going digital transfered over. Outside of that can tell you they treat their employees like prisoners almost. You have to input your employee number on these keypads sprinkled all over the offices so they can know where you've been and how long you were there.

There is so much misinformation about so called mattress tags. Consumers CAN take them off no problem. They can't be taken off by dealers.
