For a 4 door. I’ve seen all kinds of rubber mats and covers for the cargo area including when rear seats are folded down. That’s fine but my real issue is I need a material that the dogs can dig into and hang on. Two big golden retrievers and they slide all over back there. They don’t fit together just sitting on the rear seats (ie seats aren’t folded down). Maybe just order the rubber kind and hope it works? Any other ideas or specific products to recommend?

Check out canvasback covers. They are pricier, but better for dogs to grip due to being fabric.

Everyone is full of good answers and helpful ideas. Thanks to all! We will make a decision and I’ll post back what we did. We just don’t need the dogs pinballing around back there, although if we are off roading slow enough with the doors off they will just be running alongside anyhow.

Also look at a horse stall mat. Cut to fit! Very grippy...

We do have horses but didn’t think of that. Great idea! Dirt and waterproof too.
