Here's a new product I hadn't seen shared yet...

Speaker or Light mount for the Rear

I haven't upgraded my speakers to his 6.5s, but others should note, if you have, this won't work/fit.

I took a look at the DV8 product, and the Mabbet product seems EXACTLY the same, sans a logo.

For those who have used this with speakers, does it hamper your rear view? How is the sound compared to having the 4' out back? I have upgraded all of my speakers to Alpine products, sans the Sub, I was wondering if putting 6.5 on a bar would give clearer bass.

I have the DV8 mount with 4 6.5 Pods, it sounds great. Also have a 1200w amp pushing them......Being that I have four of them, the view is slightly obscured but not too bad as the speakers are up high near the roof and the rear window panel would block most of this anyways...If you don't want to give up any of the rear view, you could try just 2 speakers... I am more than satisfied with mine...

Thanks for the info. I have considered getting two of them, and then changing the amps in my Bronco to accommodate. I would be using two if I was to go this route, and still use the 4' in the OEM pods which I have already replaced with Alpine S40's

I used the DV8 as well in my 2dr. The difference between it and the Mabbet looks to be DV8 is one solid piece and Mabbet is 3 piece. I've got 2 KMTC8 8in Kicker Marine wake board speakers with RBG function on a separate amplifier. They line up with the rear headrests so you really don't loose much visibility.

I would talk to audio/video specialist and not a big box company.
I considered JM labs because that's what I have in my home and love it, but after consultation we decided on kicker for the larger units, audio frog for the smaller units because of the environment they're used in, windows down, tops/doors off tailgate/hatch open

Thanks for sharing!

I was more interested in the light bar option, when topless, summer beach nights, camping, etc.

But the speaker thing may be cool too... Rear facing for tailgating fun.

I'm old so I don't understand why you'd point speakers at the rear glass. seems like that would completely distort the sound wave having to bounce off / rattle glass to come back to the intended listener.

For when you parked and are sitting out on the beach drinking umbrella-laden drinks and still want to hear your Jimmy Buffet.
