Oil change light frequency / length

Just wondering if there is anyway to shorten the length of time before the oil change light comes on. It’s my wife’s truck and it didn’t come on til 10k miles. I feel like that is way to much. I don’t let any of our vehicles go past 6k. Thank you in advance

Not sure. I just change the oil on all my cars at 5k miles. Easy for my simple brain to keep track of when to change.

No there is no way to do it. The OLM keeps track of starts, idle, milage speed etc to figure out when the oil needs to be changed. If you want to change it at a different milage then Ford thinks it should be, then use the old fashioned way and use a little sticker on the windshield with date and milage.

That’s what I just did now. I don’t drive it much so it’s tough even with the stickers. Lol. I guess that’s our best bet. Thanks for the help.!!

I do lot of offroading at high elevation and change my oil every 3k-3500k miles.

I just wait until the Ford App shows 50% Oil Life and take it in...
