I am a typical suburban driver. The closest I come to offroad is turning around on grass or a dirt country road. Love my '22 Base 4 door but at 30K miles it seems to really not like any pothole and hits oddly hard. Given I am on-road 99% , is there a shock anyone would recommend for a smoother ride? No worry on any "then why did you get a bronco" comments. They are warranted. :)

I have seen a lot of recc for Bilstein B8 5100

You can get the Fox's from Ford, but they're pricey and I don't know if they require Sas or not.

That would be my first recommendation as well - the HOSS 3 shocks reportedly ride very smooth, and as far as coil overs go - they aren't ~that~ pricey. $2800 for all 4 corners, and you can burn Ford points on it, and usually qualifies for partial 15/20% discounts that are almost always running. The only negative I would say about them would be, usually in this price range you see ride height adjustment (either clips or a collar), and these do not have that - you'd have to use shims to adjust ride height.

Does not require SAS.

My neighbor has a 2dr with them and they're noticeably more "plush" than my ratty yellow Bilsteins... lol I kinda feel like almost anything would be better than the Hitachis, though, unless it was something maximized for off road and those are usually expensive (moreso than the cheap 5100s at least). I've also heard Fox can rebuild them too, so they can last a long time.

Eibachs are very plush and if you're not going to off road the price is likely a lot more palatable. Rides nice and smooth on road.

I bought the Eibach coilovers for offroad comfort but boy do they deliver onroad. I find them somewhat softer than the base Hitachis and absolutely plush compared to Sasquatch/Badlands Bilsteins.
Sometimes they legitimately surprise me with how well they handle bumps at speed. Float might be the right word.

I am similar use case got some non SAS take off Hoss2 coil overs cheap and transformed handling and ride on the 18" OBX wheels. A perfect upgrade and saved myself a lot of money.

Bilstein ride like ass on washboard. I’m ditching the squatch yellow garbage for either Eibach or Fox hoss 3.0

I find on OBX 18s 114 load rated tires at 36 psi they glide right over washboard.....but for all in cost incl mechanic assist, alignment and take offs $600 I'm super happy and cancelled my Fox 2.5 order...especially after I tried 3 different setups on my S550 mustang and swapped to PP2 take offs.

Looking forward to testing it on Michelin LTX Trail VS Blizzak DMV2. Sure hold the road though with way less body lean, squat and dive compared to Hitachis that I tossed out.
