I have a 2021 Outerbanks (not Sport) and I’m looking to upgrade my tire/wheel package. Does anyone know what options I have to increase the rim/wheel size without having to do a lift kit OR worrying about the increased wheel doing damage to the transmission/steering/wheel well tub? I am a newbie to this. Primarily looking to upgrade the off-road look and gain better winter/snow traction. Thank you.

I currently have 255 70/R18
Can I increase to 285 70/R17 rim/wheel set?

275/70 is the most you can do without lift or rub. Plenty of threads on OBX tire swaps. You made a good decision, it really transforms the look overnight.

285/70/17 ARE THE SAME HEIGHT AS THE OB 18" STOCK WHEELS/TIRES. THERE SHOULD BE NO PROBLEM WITH 285/70/17. WHY DO YOU SAY 275'S ARE THE BIGGEST?

Some people are even doing 315/70R17 (34.4") on stock +55mm offset wheels. Granted they might have some fender rub at full compression off-road, or some mild sway bar rub at full lock. But given how many people hardly (if ever) off-road in these vehicles, probably those tires are fine as well for most uses, at least in terms of fitting.

Like Indio22 said people are going as big as 315/70/17. That's my current plan when the Bronco arrives. (EDIT: if you do this you'll have to remove the crash bars to avoid rubbing)

I created a spreadsheet awhile ago showing what other OBX owners have done. Hopefully it's helpful.

My mistake, I thought you wanted to keep the OEM wheel. If you replace the wheels too there's a lot more options!

I am going to change to Analog HD white wheels for that Heritage look. I was hoping to put 285/70/17's on them. They appear to be the same height as my 18" wheels/tires.
