Has anyone else had this problem? I've read a few articles about Parking Break Limited functions here, but haven't seen anything like what happened to me over the weekend.

I got into my Bronco (2022, base) and started it up, the engine was running, but then I got the Parking Break Limited Function error.

My engine kept running, but all electrical stopped. The Start/Shut off button didn't work, no dash screen, no window function, didn't even register my key fob lock/unlock.

Had to have it towed to the shop - with the engine running. When I got to the dealership, no one in the service department had seen this. They disconnected the Battery, but the engine wouldn't turn off. Eventually, they pulled the fuse for the alternator & got the engine to stop.

Is this just a faulty computer update? Wiring? Sensor? I'm still waiting to hear back from the service center.
Any update on your issue?

This was a year and half ago.
Necroed by the bump LOL. Was off for a week and skimming threads, didn't even bother looking at the date it was created. That'll teach me.........again.

@Pipper99 might be having a similar issue, since he bumped it.

It is kinda like, what happened?? And leaving the hood open for a week out in the open is like 🤯

Yea, these outlier problems pique my interest. Hood open and not communicating it may be a week before they actually dig into it is not great. We have people drop vehicles if they don't need it so we can try to work in early but always qualify up front it may be a week or whatever. It's nice to have filler jobs sitting around because cancellations happen, just need to have the time frame conversation right away then regular updates.

I don’t have the issue, but I’m curious as to the resolution in case it ever happens. 😊

So I am curious, wtf do you do for your Ford dealer? I figured you were service but when I was an advisor at Galpin Ford, (or any other ford dealer actually) I barely had time to even glance at my phone to check the time due to the volume of cars coming in 😂

Me and my brother own the joint. My area of responsibility is fixed ops (body, car service, parts, wholesale parts, heavy truck & trailer service, secondary heavy truck facility) and trying to vomit useful information on bronco forums. Started doing trash, cleaning toilets, mucking the "pit', changing oil in high school, did one year in college thinking I wanted to do lab work. Couldn't stand the stupid shit (the book, "The Zen of Poo", finally did me in) so I went to a 2 year auto program and got my associates. Decided not to transfer to another school to finish a 4 year and went to work in the shop doing transmission and drivelines. From there did the service advisor thing, dispatcher, warranty, dad sent us to NADA dealer academy in 2011 then died unexpectedly at the end of 2013 and so here I am.

The business was started by my great-grandfather who was selling farm implements, Maxwell cars, Ford cars as an independent and finally got the Ford franchise in 1921. His son Alvin took over the business with his brother, my grandfather, moved it to Jasper, started Jasper Engines after the war, grandfather managed the dealership and Alvin JET, dad married into the family in '74 and with 2 other partners bought Alvin and Oliver out of the car operation. Sorry for the long bio.

Awesome story!! It also explains your ability to look up all this info to the scale of a professional being extremely informative and knowing where to pull info. I would have guessed old timer service advisor that knows his shit or veteran tech, not the owner!! Lol

I always see you are extremely helpful though! 🙏

They’re even better in person. Buying my second Bronco from them after my first was rear-ended to the point of FUBAR last year. They will be my default choice for any future new Ford product, and I recommend them to anyone shopping Ford.
