Apologies for the basic question, and forgive my ignorance, but is it possible to put a bull bar (or nudge bar) on the standard bumper, or do I need to upgrade to a modular bumper first?

If you mean the base / plastic bumper, look at Rough Country.

That is the one for the standard bumper. As far as I know there isn't one that directly fits the capable bumper however there are some jeep ones that members have put on the capable bumper. The one you show is the only one I've seen for the standard bumper.

Yes it does. I had to turn the front sensors off unfortunately. But we have the 360 camera so didn't really need the sensors on.

how was the install?
also curious what sensors you refer to. I have BD with mid, so not sure I have sensors there to worry about? I guess the emergency stop sensors are behind the bar?

I didn't install it, a friend of mine did but he said it wasn't bad at all. We have the parking sensors in the front bumper and we had to deactivate those. The emergency brake sensor is in the windshield behind the mirror if I'm not mistaken.

I got to tell you, after pulling off the standard front bumper, there's not a lot to it, and the only Metal in it is a really thin frontal piece and not much from the top that you could go into.

If it wasn't so early in the morning, I could turn the alarm off and go outside and take a picture but basically there's not a lot of metal meat on the standard bumper to even drill into.
