Hi all,

Unsure if this is even possible...

My Bronco finally shipped in the last week or 2. It is traveling by rail car. I am wondering if this is something that I can track on my end. I asked my salesman, and he has not replied (this is normal, unfortunately).
I only have the email that Ford sent alerting me that it had been shipped. Dealer told me it was via rail.

Is there any way to sleuth this out and keep an eye on my end? Communication from the dealer and salesperson has been sparse at best and incredibly painful.

That's unfortunate that your dealer and sales person have been rather uninformative.

Yes, there are ways you can track it. One is VINView, which your dealer would need to sign you up for...it gives you text messages every time there is a status change on your rail car. Your dealer can actually see more information in real time, including a map that shows every point where you will get a message (various intersections, yards, etc.). Mine when my truck was shipped would send me pictures of that map every day or other day.

I don't recall if it was on this site, but I remember seeing a thread that shows how to track rail cars, but you have to have the rail car NUMBER to be able to call the 1-800 number and answer the proper prompts. Again, that's something I think you have to get from your dealer, and it sounds like your particular one might be slow getting it to you.

That said, depending on train schedules, if yours shipped that long ago, it might already be at the closest unloading dock and be waiting on a truck to head to your dealership. It really depends on rail and truck scheduling.

I might be able to track the railcar. Depending on which railroad is moving it.
