What’s up y’all! I’ve been slowly planning where to take the next phase of my Bronco build and coming up with some ideas. Eventually I’d like to go with a soft sort of long travel but am hesitant to do the high price or the spacers on my rear axle to accommodate for the extra width up front.
A lot of people recommend ordering a wider Dana 60 axle for the width made for a bolt on installation into the Bronco. That’s cool and all but the price is insane, plus a Dana 60 axle looses some hefty diff clearance.
My question: I’ve searched everywhere and want to know how much wider the Raptor Dana 50 is over the M220 axle. At $2700 for the entire assembly that’s a steal for an axle rated by Ford for a 37” tire. I’d dare say it will take a 40” just fine. Probably about as fine as my M220 takes a 37” right now.
It seems like a no brainer to purchase a Dana 50 Braptor rear axle, cut off and reweld some brackets and call it a day.
Am I missing something?
Same gearing, different sensors maybe that won’t talk to my Bronco? Ford parts says it fits for what it’s worth.
