Just picked this up yesterday. Easy install, maybe 20 minutes after I chased the threads on the mounting bolts. It was an open box and looks like someone didn't know how to clean off the overspray on the threads so they crossthreaded a couple of the nuts on the bolts. Wonder if someone was just rushing to get some photos for the website...
Has a rough bedliner type finish that kind of hides the weld quality (or lack thereof), typical of what I have seen on aftermarket stuff, but if I paid the full $1450 I wouldn't be happy (I paid almost exactly half of that after a 20% off coupon at ExtremeTerrain.com)
Very beefy, though the mounting plates aren't. If it were in a wreck, it is just going to crumple and get pushed into the grille I think.
Long term I will look at modifying/beefing that up and allow a way to install a winch bracket ahead of the bumper instead of needing a Roughcountry hiddent winch or something like that. I would be afraid really yanking on the tow hooks for the same reason. I would probably use my stock tow points that I have left on for now.
I think it will be pretty easy to take some steel plate and remake the mounting points with 1/8" or even 1/4" thick and then use the stock bolting plates to use removeable bolts. I can see why they welded in the bolts and used nuts for ease of install, but I can do it better.
I love the design and the width of it, which will I think look even better once I get my other fender flares installed.
