Need some reasonable cost lights for cornering in pitch black conditions. I can’t see left or right in a 90 degree turn thru tint well. Do I want them on the cowl or in front of wheels pointing sideways? Reasonable cost means something good, good finish quality. But top of line is overkill. Not some no name where someone starts a parts biz in garage with Chinese stuff. If on cowl is the best place, then I prefer something on smaller size 3-4 inches. Thanks.

Here are some options that we would recommend:

Ford Bronco Squadron Sport A-pillar kit $335.95
Specs: Watts 30/ Amps 2.2/ Lumens: 3,162 (per light)

Ford Bronco Squadron Pro A-pillar kit $519.95
Specs: Watts 41.4/ Amps 3/ Lumens 4,095 (per light)

It is possible to make a kit with our S2 Sport modes that is cheaper than our Squadron Sport kit.

S2 Sport
Specs: Watts 12.42/ Amps 0.9/ Lumens 1,581 (per light)

Cost for a custom kit with S2 sport: $318.95

If you’re wanting these for street use, you better check your local laws for compliance. For example lights on the cowl in my state are not street legal, (higher than 42”). Also the light itself has to be DOT approved.

Correct. It is why I suggested the knuckle mount. Or the OP could use the new M2M end cap bracket that has slots to accommodate lights.

Whatever light you buy, I'd recommend these DV8 ditch light brackets. The antenna mount was just a nice bonus.

I just installed them this weekend, and combined with the Baja Designs S2 light on the lower mount point, they blend right in with the mirror arm and 'disappear'. I don't have lights on the top mounting spot, so I can't really even see my lights from the drivers position which I like, but they light up my corners great.

I second the DV8 brackets. Prevents glare off the hood and keeps the lights out of my sightline.

I have Diode Dynamics lights on mine- solid quality but not outrageously priced.

I wish the lights on the outside of my mirror caps stayed lit over 3 mph, and/or illuminated with my hi-beams (mostly this). As is, I can only activate via the button below dash, and they go out if above idle. They seem wasted. They’re bright lights which illuminate the ditch area very well. Come on, Ford! Easy programming fix. Wonder if we could sync them with hi-beams on Forscan?

+1 for knuckle mounts that turn with your wheels.

Ford can’t let the mirror spots stay on under motion (above 6mph in this case) because the mirror spots are not DOT approved. They don’t have a horizontal cutoff to prevent direct light going into the eyes of other drivers. However, this is a discussion of off-road auxiliary lighting, which most states allow, as long as they’re aftermarket accessories.

So defeating/bypassing the mirror spotlights is just like adding ditch lights. Not nearly as bright as many ditch light options of course, but as has been said-they’re a waste if they go unused.

Here is a photo of the result of built-in mirror spots along with a pair of @Baja Designs SAE Squadrons mounted in the modular bumper fog pockets:

You can see the Squadron beam standing out. No headlights are on.

so they make a nice ditch light for being already on some Broncos. And you can run them off upfitter or auxiliary switches the same as you would ditch lights. Personally, I feel better about doing it through a diode if keeping them attached to the Zone Lighting controls, but others are having success without blocking diodes as well.
