Go to a body shop you trust, have them do a partial teardown to look for hidden damage, demand all new Ford OE parts (likely only ones available right now), schedule the work, carry on.

An insurance company can not tell you what shop to use, that is illegal. You choose the shop and let them fight it out with the insurance company, that's what they get paid for.

I see $4K there.

This is just the big stuff I see in the pic. Didn't factor sensor, labor, paint, hardware, etc.

thankfully no one injured. red light runner side swiped my front end.

need some advice from those who've experienced body shop/insurance with their new broncos. I am able to choose my own body shop, so going with a Ford certified shop. what else should I consider in selecting a shop?

what should I look out for in terms of parts/process? visually the damage is the headlight, grille, lower body trim below grille, skid plate, mod bumper, potentially the hood. how can I be sure there's no frame damage? thanks for any advice/tips/tricks to this process.

I second what Phil said. We were rear-ended a little over a month ago. If you take your Bronco to a preferred provider recommended by your or their Insurance company, they likely won't tear anything down, they will just do a supplement if any hidden damage is found after they begin the repairs. Our dealer here in town does not have a body shop. But, the body shop I am using is the one the dealership uses. We had to wait over a month for all of the parts to come in. Luckily the Bronco was not hurt that bad and was driveable. Just from the picture you posted I wouldn't think there is frame damage. The person who hit me was traveling an estimated 40mph.

I mean these pieces aren't a huge deal at all. You are in luck they are all going to be replaced, not repaired minus the hood probably. They will let you know pretty quick if there is frame damage once they get the parts off.

If you have any interest in aftermarket parts like bumpers, skid plates, now would be a good time to get a check cut to you by the insurance company if allows it.

We used a Ford repair center back when we had the Bronco sport and it was a nightmare, so no clue how to make that better as they had okay reviews.

We also pursued a diminished value claim and got about 3k back on top of the initial repairs.

Thanks @flip and @RoLyMa27 appreciate the info and perspective.

Popped the hood and the left passenger quarter panel is warped/pushed back. Have a body shop that I trust that’s not ford certified so will go that route.

How’d you make the diminished value claim? @Theowlhoothoot

I had to wait until after the repair claim was closed, then I filed with the other parties insurance over the phone since they were at fault. I'm also in a state that allows you to do that.

Took about 6 months in total to deal with after repairs. We sold the car and got the full sized bronco before we even finished.

We had to use numbers of panels and type of damage and like multiply it by the cost of repair, then submit supporting documents for value before and after. Basically cannot be more than 10% of the cars value. But one could easily argue it is worth more than MSRP.

We also had issues where they repaired panels instead of replaced, so it's brought down the value significantly more since they were being cheap. Mainly on the hood.

Just get a quote for trade in today at the point of damage for reference and save it from a few places. Then get one after repairs and save those.

If your state allows inquire about diminished value for your Bronco. When the insurance company responses with a number tell them it’s not enough. Then repeat multiple times.

looking at your photo with the bolt folded towards then passenger side did the impact come from center out? Meaning driver side but impact started near the center of bumper. If so it is unlikely you have any frame sway. The shop should check anyway but you can ask them to x check it(this is where we would measure across to the specified points in an under hood or frame diagram to see if any structural damage occurred.) As a certified body tech for 10 years I would think you have nothing to worry about frame wise. But things to bend in unexpected places. Bummer about your ride. Some insurance places as long as you consent in writing will allow aftermarket parts. Especially when you add up what the factory parts are going to cost. A nice aftermarket steel bumper will likely be less than the factory mod bumper and related trim, bolts, brackets that are needed. If you are saving them money you might be surprised what they will approve. It’s a hassle to cash out as we called it. Then you still have to prove it was repaired properly to the insurance company so they will cover you in another accident in the same area if the vehicle.
