Replace hardtop

My roof has cracks and has been covered by warranty. My problem is the dealer has been trying to order the drivers side panel that is cracked, not the whole roof. Are these roofs modular? I thought it was one piece? Ford keeps sanding the dealer glass instead of a roof. It been a year that I've been waiting. Do they only replace sections to roof or the entire thing?

They will replace the rear cap, which is one piece. They usually will not replace the mid panel and two front panels unless those have problems.

My top had problems everywhere, so they sent a whole new top. But most people are just getting the rear cap.

The rear cap comes without glass. So the dealership has to remove the glass from the old cap and install it in the new cap.

My Ford dealer tried to the same thing. Ford came back to them and replaced the entire top not sections. The body shop manager at the ford dealership said they had never replaced one so they had no idea what the process was. I had to ask for the headliner.

I'm on my third top counting the original top. If you have blemishes and cracks on every panel they will send a whole new top. If you only have blemishes on some of your panels they will only send that panel. It's weird that they are sending glass because they used my glass both times they replaced mine.

Been there done that! #4 here. Hopefully the last. I see the new Mod tops being delivered wonder if those will have the same problems.

Im still waiting for the dealer to replace my top.

My replacement just showed up, #5 with factory top. This is an average 2 1/2 a year. I feel the problem not just being a slap together thing is if you drive it and the flex of turning will do cracks. I really think the people that do not drive daily will find out when the top is out out warranty. The shi! show will be real then. Just an opinion and time will tell...
