Review: Advanced Wheel Locks

Just received these after a 2 month wait:

They came packed like an Iphone:

The maximum cone diameter, where the angle ends is .78 The factory lugs are .81. Not an issue because both still exceed the wheel taper diameter.

Key engagement seems tight.

The problem:

None of them went on more than 2-3 turns. Tried multiple studs. Thread size is correct, but will certainly seize if trying to install. Looks like base plating(nickle/copper??) may be too heavy, or possible HT distorted threads. Chasing the threads now with a tap and will report back on key grip.

No response.

Thought I had an M12x1.5 tap, but do not. Do have a gauge, and gauge does not go in.

Will be sending back.

Good morning
A problem with an advancedwheels lock key on the BRONCO 2023. The dealer installed the key incorrectly when he reinstalled the locks on my wheels. Result he damaged the key making it unusable to adjust the torque on the lock. I contacted LIZ LAMBERT OF ADVANCED WHEELS LOCK to let her know about my problem and asked for the replacement of the key with her number.
His reaction was to ask me to pay the transportation costs $30.00 because I am from Quebec CANADA.
But the company sends me a complete set of 5 locks and key (2) to replace a defective key. (without returning the wrong key)
So the support from this company is fantastic we get what we pay for with ADVANCEDLOCK.

Just a quick follow up, got a tap. Chased the threads. Everything looks/works great.

Also would like to note that one of the owners, Liz, called to check on my order and even offered to exchange my set. Not needed though.

Final note. If I re-ordered, I would get 7 total. One for each wheel and 3 for the spare. Make the criminals work for it.

Very helpful! Thank you! Now I'm stuck with an $80 set of ford locks I used my points to purchase and can't return...damn. Would rather be out the $80 and spend the money on the advanced wheel locks then be out a wheel. Thanks for sharing!

Ordered a set on August 3. They charged my CC on August 7. So far nothing.

I reached out via email twice recently and no response. I guess I'll have to dispute the charge through my bank.

I am not happy with mine…in use for 2 months and the plating is flaking off and rust setting in. Emailed the company about it an no response yet (will update if I hear from them).

Also, if you do go this route I did need to hit them with a thread chaser as OP experienced. After that, they threaded on as they should.
