I've never had a dune flag until now, but if you're traveling to a location where you need the flag, how do you transport it? e.g. if you're driving an hour or two away, or in my case 3-4 hours to Southern Utah. It doesn't seem like it would do well at freeway speeds for multiple hours.

I shoved mine between the roll bar and the hardtop, but that's not really that ideal, especially if you have a 10 foot flagpole.

I looked for two piece flags, but they're not as prevalent as I would have expected.
I was able to find a 2 piece flag at my local powersports dealer. Give that a shot

I've found the flag+kit I want just looking for a mount for it... but look at https://www.handyflag.com - some friends of mine in Southern Utah use them. Tent-pole design so it breaks down to a very manageable size and has a quick disconnect on it too for mounting. Best design I've seen.

...now... where & how to mount it...

don't you need 10' pole in most places?

At Sand Hollow they stated flag had to be at 8' minimum. That 10' is probably where the flag needs to be at those other places so depending on where your mount is, no you don't need a 10' pole.

eBay seller (not me) has a mount I used for $28. It mounted easily behind the top tail gate hinge. I purchased a 3 foot Whip and I'm only at 7 foot 6 inches, so I would recommend the purchase of a 4 foot Whip for use with this mount on the Bronco.

I see what you mean. I didn't have any alignment issues, but I also didn't have a heavy spare tire weighing down the door when I installed my piece. My door still opens and closes like it did before. 🤷‍♂️
