I am going to be adding bilstein 5100 shocks to my 2 door black diamond bronco. Can I add aftermarket springs like Dobinsons or Eibachs instead of the stock springs. I will be setting the bilsteins at the 2” mark. Any help would be appreciated.

AFAIK the 5100s are designed to work with the OEM springs. Other springs will most likely fit but no telling how they'll work with the 5100s unless someone has been a guinea pig.

Different springs can be put on the 5100 bilstein shocks besides OEM. Spring rate is an important parameter but not the only consideration.

The spring needs to fit wrt diameter, so spring ID is important.

The shock should be near mid stroke at ride height, so spring free length is important. This will dictate the required preload based on the max shock extension measured from spring mount to mount.

At max compression the spring length should be greater than its block height.
