I couldn't find any feedback on this so I am hoping someone can help me with the slide out tailgate. I am building out the cargo area to upland hunt out of this fall. One of the things I have been eyeing are the slide out tailgate options. It would be handy for the way I hunt and looking over dogs, etc. when we get back to the truck etc.
I would have two Ruffland intermediate kennels (~ 30 lbs each)sitting on top of the slide out unit and two setters weighing ~ 40 lbs each in the kennels. I have been looking at the Ford version of this since it looks like it can be operated with one hand, which would be handy. I am wondering if the kennels plus the dogs would be too much weight sitting on top of the unit. I see it rated for 600lbs but that is the actual table/shelf that slides out, not the cover that sits on top of the structural unit and table. I'm concerned too much weight on top will deflect or warp the top cover
Has anyone run one of these with dog kennels or other 'weight' sitting on top of it?
Thanks in advance!
