Smittybilt Roof Tent?

Has anyone used the smittybelt roof tent? I was looking at this model due to size, price, and reviews. Can’t find any solid info on if it works with the factory roof rails or if I need to get cross bars too. If I do need crossbars what has everyone used?

I have the Gen 2 XL mounted on a trailer, it’s a great tent. The XL is big and takes a few minutes to set up and pack, but it’s a well built and comfortable tent,

Good to hear good things about them. I’m still trying to figure out if the factory roof rails will work or if I need a different rig on top.

I did not. I ended up going with theOverland Vehicle Systems TMBK 3 Roof Top Tent

Haven’t had a chance to use it since roof rails are still on back order but it had good reviews from a few bronco articles.

I have the Smittybilt XL Gen 2 also and haven't been able to try it out yet. I didn't get my Gobi Rack until Nov. And since my Bronco won't fit in the garage with the tent installed I'm probably going to wait until spring.
