Hello all. Sorry if this is a question that has been answered before. I just couldn’t find anything about it in my quick search online.

I have a ‘25 Base Bronco w/ a soft top on it. The Ford soft top video mentions that when installing the rear soft top windows that the top front corner should be tucked under the tension cable when putting the top back up. Is this still true for the updated soft top? I tried doing this and it just doesn’t look like it is supposed to do that but I just wanted to make sure. Any help is appreciated!

have a 23 soft-top black diamond.

i'm almost positive i know the corner and cable you are talking about. if you want to include a timestamp on the video that might help and get more responses.

i was putting the corner under/behind the cable already just because it seemed like a more natural place for it to fit. i'd recommend doing it for that reason, but i'm certainly open to other opinions telling me why its a bad idea.

i run safari mode 70% of the year anyway, so it hasn't been a huge issue for me if i am doing it incorrectly.

I have put it under the cable but mine does not seem to look much like the one in the videos... I also can't tell if the most recent video they have posted about the soft top install is the new updated version. The link to the most recent video is: and the side window install starts at 4:35. Let me know what you think!

What BS. I love how the guy reinstalls the side windows EASILY as if it actually fit, rather than swearing, calling your wife, pushing, tugging, what have you to make that rear seal enter into the slot. Liars.

I have a 22 that had the early soft top and then it was rebuilt with the new 2024/25 guttered softop.
the cables were all stretched out when the dealer reskinned it so they re cabled it.

Ive not noticed having to tuck the windows under that wire since it was reskinned and recabled. LMK if you need pix

Mine looks similar just with a larger sleeve around it. Picture attached below.

My concern is the gap at the front of the soft top side windows. I haven’t had/seen any water leaking in but was wondering if yours looks similar? I appreciate your help!

I just took the top completely off…so can’t check now

I don’t think yours looks too odd but then again I don’t think I’ve particularly paid attention to that specific location. I’d be less worried about water ingresses at that point just because of how that entire piece fits in right there. Once I put my top back on, I’ll double check mine and we can compare notes.
