My plan is to order up and install the Beat Sonic plug n play amp kit with sub outputs and an Alpine PWE-SB10 subwoofer. The question I have is for those that added in a stand alone sub and had the OE sub.....did you defeat the OE sub or just let it ride as-is?

I got the MTX amp rack installed in place of the OE sub and mounted Kenwood XR1001.1 w integrated LOC on it using the amp sub out put signal, connected to tailgate mounted HERTZ MPBX300S2 12" 2 ohm sub.

I won't be replacing the OE sub/amp. I am adding in a stand alone powered sub box using the signal from the Beat-Sonic amp I'm installing under the dash. The OE sub would still be functional. What I'm asking is who has done similar and either defeated or kept the OE sub/amp funtional.

I would remove it if you aren’t using it — one less thing that will start rattling around later

This is my current train of thought. At the very least just reach in and unplug the OE amp going to the OE sub.
