I'm wondering if anyone has a way of finding/calculating the percentage of total posts that are related to the roof. Between wind noise, road noise, water leaks, creaking, cracking, aftermarket roofs, and delamination, I'd bet that roof issues (hard top and soft top) have generated the most (or certainly among the most) conversation on this forum. I would guess that there must be an "easy" way for this to be calculated.

This data would be really interesting and valuable to owners as well as Ford.

While it won't help convince anyone, you can pull the data "fairly" easily if you can code and willing to spend a few days (up to a few weeks depending on your skill) narrowing down results. You can write a python script to "scrape" data though any website - for example the B6G website, basically program it to run through every post and search for some combination of "roof" & "leak" or "crack" or "issue" etc. Then divide # of posts with these keywords over total posts.

As a learning exercise in data scraping with python, this would actually be a fun "real world" example where you continually debug the code and enhance the efficacy of the script, vs the boring crap they have you scrape in python courses. The hard part would be deciphering which posts are related to issues, vs just mentioning the top. But that's where the hard work comes in to narrow down the results properly.

If it's something you're wanting to try, I suggest using Microsoft VSCode with the built-in python and Jupyter Notebook extensions, as well as adding the Co-Pilot AI "enhancement" extension.

At work, we use python web data scraping on dozens of our applications. It takes some time to set up properly, but once it works it's pretty cool.

Your idea of fun is much different than mine.

What can I say, I'm a huge nerd and also love offroading in the Bronco. Dress clothes at work, coveralls when I'm wrenching under the truck.

This forum is just the squeeky wheel... 95% of 6th gen owners out there either don't care, don't have problems or don't know they do

As stated - Ford couldn't give two sh*ts

Doesn’t google already do something like this? And you could search both site wide and internet wide.

So true.

Add to that, the guys with the “issues” don’t care either, including the OP. Why not? Because there are no other options for a convertible truck that looks rugged. Ford also could have screwed you and made the top 1 piece and not modular, which would easy eliminate most of the concerns guys bitch about all day on here.

Think the Nissan Murano comes in a convertible, so all the complainers should just go get that.

A removable top is going to be less than perfect, period. Mine has never leaked and I’m fine with it, but only remove panels on occasion, but happy to have them up there and it’s fun when off-roading. Bugs come in, then fly right back out in Summer; what’s not to love? :)

Depends on what do you mean by “most conversations” and how you categorize them.

For a simple perspective, scroll to the bottom of the forum and notice that there are ~92k posts categorized under “Issues/Repairs/Warranty/Recalls”

compare that to:
  • 585k posts under “Ordering/Pricing/Production/…”
  • 191k posts under “Photos/Videos”
  • 67k+ posts under “Exterior Modifications”
  • 61k posts under “Tires/Wheels/Brakes”
  • 60k posts under “Electronics”

I’ve had two jeeps and a now a hard top Bronco and all three are noisy….I expected it. If my wife’s Volvo was as noisy id take it to the dealer to fix…Broncos like Jeeps were never designed for comfort on any level. I also had a 1985 Toyota 4 Runner it too was noisy and bounced all over…the Japanese only gave you what you needed not what you wanted. I love my Bronco noise, bouncy ride, stiffness and it’s Awesome!!!

Soooo many people end up complaining about noise and creaks like they're comparing the 6th gen to a modern mid level luxury vehicle. Yeah you spent the same money but it went to drastically different parts of the car. If I wanted a polished silent ride id have wasted money on a Defender or something. But I hammer, cut, grind, weld on my vehicles and love my TJ and such so im used to/prefer a more unpolished vibe
