Does anyone know the impedance spec of the stock kick panel speakers in ohms? Or, has anyone ohmed them out (even better)?
I'm reading reports of having to wire the speakers in series after replacing just the dash speakers with aftermarket variants. I wouldn't expect series or parallel wiring to make a dramatic difference if the two speakers were closely matched in impedance. But if they were mismatched, that would explain why.
My experience is more with home theater. I've encountered speakers with a stated impedance of 4 ohms which were actually closer to 6 ohms. With one speaker per channel, it doesn't make a big difference. But with parallel wiring, it most certainly would.
