Tailgate Hinge Unfinished Paint

Anybody else out there got what appears to be an unfinished paint job around the hinges of the tailgate? Not a huge deal but definitely noticeable.

This is sadly normal, the rear gate is painted with the hinges installed. If you remove the hinges you will see there is no paint under them. I discovered this when replacing mine with Raptor hinges.

Mine looks like that, and it is the reflection of the hinge in the clearcoat on the tailgate.

I see no primer, modern automotive uses a E-coat not a primer. All I see in the picture is a sag at the top of the gate.

Primer, e coat. First cost. Same thing to me. No green paint top side of hinge. Only see gray coat.

E-coat is electrified in the tank they dip in. The car is on a hanger that is the ground. It's a way better process. If the OPis actually seeing the e-coat it has been moved after the paint process. (Either by him or by Ford for fitment.) E-coat and printer are not meant to see weather and should be painted over.

Yeah mine is the same. Easier to see with the Shadow Black paint.

They did not have the Robot fan pattern right on this; should be an easy fix for your dealers body shop.

I understand. I’m just saying that, on mine, all the exposed surfaces are painted.

That's a good picture to show it's obviously not a reflection but missing paint. Mine in Race Red doesn't have the issue. I'd be annoyed.
