Ordered a tailgate shelf from Ford using my FordPass rewards; what a debacle! First my original order was canceled with no notification, did not realize it was canceled until I got a survey email and checked the order, no email notifications after the initial one saying my order was received. Ok s*** happens. Then tried to reorder, after checking that the item was in stock. When I reordered the site charged it to my credit card, even the the box to charge my rewards was checked. Attempted to cancel and the site seemed to freeze up. I got the email notification of the order, went into the order and it showed my order canceled. Good, except I have still not been credited to my card (I know this may take a few days but really?????). Reordered again, used my points and it arrived today…….damaged! The backing piece that mounts to the tailgate is bent on both ends, not too much but if I mount it it will never look completely flat

I'd send it back and go aftermarket. Like you, I used my Ford points to order this shelf, it arrived no problems. However it requires using the paper template that's included to drill 4 holes in the tailgate of your new Bronco and pray you don't bottom out the bit on the exterior panel or that the bit skids and scratches the interior of the door panel. Also, the included Ford hardware is a joke. Ultra soft metal than doesn't hold a Torx bit well and deforms or strips the head out easily. I have up and bought new hardware at Lowes. IAG has a nice table that requires no drilling, there are many others. Why make new holes if not necessary?

Thanks! I actually got through on the phone this morning pretty fast and was emailed a return label. All good but now I have to wait until the shelf is received and than up to 30 days to get my points back. Definitely considering wether to go the aftermarket direction. Ford needs to do a better job of making the rewards usable, and desirable.
