It's a pivot point. How can you be careful/not be careful there? Not trying to be a wise guy here. Maybe they should have put a bushing or bearing or something there?

I imagine they noticed that as soon as it happened and Ford rectified the design for production. Wouldn’t worry about it. Good eye though!

Maybe before production they'll really rectify it and change the swing gate to a tail gate!

I’m pretty sure it’s part of the “locking” system .... the gate can be “locked” open in two positions, most likely a roller over a cam (the painted part there) type thing. ?‍

What does the locking system have to do with chipped paint

I think it when they engineered the hinges they did not account for the thickness of the paint. I feel confident Ford will correct it as mentioned previously.

I see a difference in the taillights.... upgraded LED in the top pic, bulbs in the lower.
I'm fine with the bulb style..... it's not like I'm going to go to my garage, sit in a chair, drink a beer, look at the taillights, and wish I spent extra for the LED's.
