With all the delays/changes/bs I decided I didn’t want to fork over $50k+. So I went a different route ...
2005 (997) for fun (and tinkering)
and
2021 SR5 “premium” for family hauling.
The 4Runner is a lease and when it’s up the BS around the Bronco will have died down and I can swap it out...
Everyone talks big sh#t about regulations and “gut meter” etc. until an issue comes up and then they can’t get to a lawyer fast enough to sue the other party or blame the government/lonbby to get laws passed.
In my world, you go overweight, you up your risk of fireballs and death exponentially...
With vague answers, new restrictions, lame excuses and all only two weeks before orders open.
Sure. Professionalism at its finest. ?‍♂️
He is but the messenger but he keeps cashing his paycheck so he gets a little heat too.

This is true, BUT, there is nothing that Jeep sells/markets with regards to their vehicle that limits it capabilities (no towing) or can’t be added because of weight concerns (headliner, roof rack, PPF, etc) on/in the Jeep B&P.
The fact that the Ford B&P sees an issue means there IS an issue...
Regardless of the reason, if the GVWR is set/certified with the DOT that’s the ACTUAL GVWR.
Exceed it and there are consequences.
I personally don’t think it’s a “class” thing - legally there is no “class.” It’s ALL marketing.
I have a hunch that when the Sasquatch package is applied the...
If the B&P really works this way it’s most likely in part because it’s keeping a “reserve” set aside for things like driver/passenger. Which means while you may be able to bolt things on after you take possession and still be under weight when you put people or gear in it (withsaid items bolted...
There is no “workaround.”
If you load up your vehicle past it’s GVWR and then get in an accident you are legally liable. Period. If you exceed GVWR and then need a warranty issue looked at, it will be denied. If someone rear ends you and the insurance company finds out you are above GVWR they...
My challenger had electric seats but on the passenger side there was a manual release for rear seat ingress and egress. It’s not rocket science to do ..... wait for it ..... both. ?

Then you are “getting” the A4x4 on the OBX for “free” .... as it only charges the $1,595 for the auto when selected.
Either way Ford is playing very sloppy and loose with their product.
JK
I don’t know if anyone has noticed but if you select the 2.7L option for the OBX you are only charged the $1,895 up charge for the engine (the auto transmission is included) ....UNTIL you select the “advanced 4x4 system” whereupon the B&P charges the entire $1,595 (the same price as the auto...
Except if you aren’t a Base 2D purchaser - then, another way to look at it and the accountants at Ford sure are, ALLLLLLLLL the other trims are subsidizing that sub $30k price point. Cuz, the blue oval sure isn’t going to eat that “discount.”
Happy Meriholidays!
