I went back to the dealership, Classic Ford in Columbia SC , they still said it could not be changed, so I showed them the comments on this website, they went back to the back room and finally said they can change it . So you all were correct, I was just going bye what the dealership said , they were apparently lying or just lazy. Thanks for correcting this for me
Wait, so can you explain again what happened? :ROFLMAO:

I am ordering a build with 3 of the deadly 6, and even worse a dreaded base. Will take a miracle or a disturbance in the space time continuem for me to be included in the first run. Day 2 reservation...
Good luck! Me too as i ordered 3 of the 6 as well. But, I’m an optimist and believe they will make a lot with Sas and 2.7 (and Lux and leather and 2 door) but I believe they are trying to set more realistic expectations as they will likely have rolling stock outages of some of those parts of those packages.

Wait, so can you explain again what happened? :ROFLMAO:
Wanted rubber floor instead of carpet, had to upgrade from big bend to black diamond for that option, they said I could not make changes on my order once it was placed, after everyone on website insisted it could be changed, I went back to the dealership, they still insisted I could not make changes on my placed order, so I showed them the comments on the website, they went in the back room and came out and agreed they could and would make the changes , so don’t believe everything they tell you

This is not correct. Although not recommend, you can make changes to your order right up until Ford issues you a VIN. And it does not require you to place a new order not do you lose your spot in line.

To the OP, tldr all your post but there is a a 50+ page thread on how to re-instate a reservation that was converted by a dealership without permission.
That's exactly what I was told by Sean Masters at Granger Ford when I sent him my order. While I understand that for a while the process was a bit convoluted, I'm so glad I went with a dealer that took the time to understand the process.

I'm in the same boat, but knew that going in. I understand Ford had to make their best guesstimate of how many of the options to source, and was quite surprised when they got a look at the take rate.

Same for me. I got the call from Ford today. I called them originally at the end of January.
My question to you is, when you make the second reservation and pay the $100 does Ford automatically refund you the initial $100 ?
Not sure. I'll let you know.

That's great news. I can't say I would feel good about rhat dealership, but at least they managed to fix this issue.

That is great news. I am glad you were able to get your dealer to do the right thing. It is your money you should get the vehicle you want.

Can any one speak to how long it took to move an order that the dealership put in without your knowledge?

I feel like I'm in a pinch, I didn't see how long these issues take to resolve in the search, wondering what potential outlook looks like.

So bit of a back story here (otherwise skip to the bottom):

I like to support local businesses. I have a car I bought and currently service a local JCD dealership. When the new Bronco was announced I was smitten. July 14, when the reservations opened I was one of those many hitting refresh on the website.

Anyways, I chose my local ford dealership by the same name as my JCD dealership. When we got closer to ordering, I did enough research to understand pricing and that I wasn't be screwed over (msrp + $500 non refundable), but I didn't reach or try to move my order to "The Best" deal in the east coast of the US.

After waiting through the intial orders opening up to hopefully miss the bugs in the system between the B&P and the part numbers, I committed to putting in my order at the beginning March.

Fast forward to this Monday. I called to schedule a visit to the dealership with the lead new-car salesman (my regular contact). "He is no longer with us"

Oh man.

So I confirmed the process with the next guy who replaced him. The non refundable fee is now $2500.

??? Oh man.

Well, I knew what to do. I retreated to the Bronco6g forum here, researched this awesome site for East coast dealerships. Found great reviews and called up a lead. They'll be happy to take my res, just need to call Ford and ask them to move it. Sure thing.

After introductions, the Ford guy asks if I knew the previous dealership had already put in my order?

Oh man. I had already read the stories here about those issues. But I had never received a notification or anything about my order going in. But sure enough, I went to my ford account and yes, Feb 9 the order was made for the original reservation.

Ford guy tells me, So because my OG dealership made my order without my consent, the they can move me, but they can't guarantee any timeline, otherwise I'll be notified when it happens.

"But surely by March 19th, right?"
"I can't predict a timeline"

Oh man.

So now I am in wait mode. The good news is that I've settled 99% of my selections. But I can't put my order in until I get moved, or I'm stuck with this crazy $2500 fee, or I ask to delay for a '22.

Long story short:
I went w local guys who lost the manager I was working with, got stuck with an outrageous fee - just to find out they put in my order in February so now Im not sure I can move the res by March 19 and I just want to order my Bronco.

Can any one speak to how long it took to move an order that the dealership put in without your knowledge?

Thanks for listening,

{Edit: corrected the order date}

Thanks, I followed it and I talked to ford. The question is more on the timeline since we're running into march 19. Ford couldn't tell me a timeframe. I'm wondering what others experienced and I didn't see time-frames in that thread. Thanks for the note,
I was ready to place my order at the dealer that had my reservation, and they moved the reservation into the WBDO. At about the same time, my preferred dealer finally agreed to match the other dealer's offer, and I decided to switch. Since the reservation had been moved into the ordering system, it was no longer possible to move the reservation since it was now technically and order.

After 5-1/2 weeks and several calls the solution was to create an entirely new reservation an my desired dealer, and then Frod manually intervened to apply my original 14 July time stamp to the new reservation. Once that was done was able to place the order and retain my "place in line".

The original reservation/order still shows in my Ford account, and don't know if that will remain the case. If so, that dealer might have gotten a bonus order they can convert. I'm working with a very good Bronco specialist at a northern Virginia dealer, PM me if you want his contact info,

OP, you keep asking about the timeline. I wouldn’t sweat it too much because it sounds like they are trying to get you changed by the 19th but if they don’t, the worst you get slid back is 1 quarter (3 months). The deadline of March 19 is to be in the mix for the first 3 months of scheduling (which is probably built May - July ish) you can still submit orders after 3/19 and those will be scheduled according to time stamp and commodity constraint for the next 3 months (probably built Aug - Oct ish).

so, if they fix your debacle but doesnt get the new dealer until March 23, you can still have your new dealer submit the order then and your not that far back.
As someone who has a reservation but is still not sure I want to place an order, this post above was great information to have.

To confirm, I don't need to do anything by March 19 and my reservation will continue to exist until I decide to order or cancel it for a refund. Correct?

Also if I want to change dealers, is there a deadline for that? My local dealer has never reached out to me at all. Which is fine cause I'm not ready yet, but may want to move my reservation to Stephens Auto...

Finally heard from my dealer yesterday. They wanted $5000 for a deposit. No thanks. Zumwalt Ford in the Napa valley (California). Small local dealer. I thought I would try to support a local business but not on those terms.

Search Mattbar1 to pm on the forum when you choose a new dealer and if you are willing to pick up in New Orleans ( not a severe hardship ) they will sell at suff discount to make worthwhile
I moved my res there and completed the order and there was no drama great deal , flawless.
I had somewhat different issues from you and changed but these guys are pleasant efficient return calls and no weird deal changes or gotchas.
good luck but he can help.
