Ugh what's Tricky up to now?

I decided on long wheeling trips (Moab for instance) I don't want to drive out on my Badaks, but carrying 4 tires with a 2dr loaded down with people and luggage is a non starter.

So they need to be trailered. I thought about rigging up mounts on the Coleman, but nothing really laid out right. So I snagged this canopy, I'll build a frame and walls to set it on and I'll have secure storage for tires, tools, parts, even my doors. With the future addition of a roof top tent, it will make the Coleman obsolete.

It's a lucky day, 7s across the board. Looks like a good time to tease my next product and my Black Friday sale. I'll be posting a 20% off storewide code later this week and getting these lights listed on the site.

Bronco putting it work today to help his older brother out. That 10.5 is at about the limits of a basket carrier on a Bronco. Handling felt less than optimal.

I'm probably going to get in trouble for plugging another website, but teardropsandtinytrailers.com has a lot of good information on building trailers.

Yes they do, I've visited there before. I have a 6x10 teardrop in my garage about half built that I haven't touched in a while.

In other news I put the Badaks on the B2 for now since I'm not likely to run them on the 6G until the Moab trip.

LOL. I read your reply really fast. I thought the only reason you haven't touched it in a while is that YOU have YOUR Bronco. My 6x12 Cargo Conversion is the only thing keeping me sane waiting. On second read I saw teardrop. Cargo Conversions aren't for the faint of heart. I imagine teardrop builds are probably worse.

You're not far off, I started building it while waiting for the Bronco and stopped when the Bronco got here because I preferred going out and having fun in my free time.

If only you had a mOaR door, this would have fit inside - with room to spare!

Armor!

The Mabett 4dr skid fits the 2dr just fine. It doesn't give up any significant clearance. I kept the bar from the disco skid for a little more protection.

I skipped the included hardware and reused the OEM bolts. The included conical bolt protectors are aluminum and would be smashed into the bolt heads instantly, making the next removal a major chore.

There appears to still be enough room to snake my arm up to replace the oil filter, so I shouldn't have to remove the skid too often.

One of the frame rail captured nuts for the t-case skid broke free. I'm going to have go back and try to fish a wrench in there to replace it some day.

So are you doubled up right here, or did you remove the original plate from the bar?

I've been considering this plate simply based on the price point and it being lightweight aluminum, so I'm definitely looking forward to your review (y)

I didn't think about using it until after the new skid was installed, because it didn't look like it would fit under. After I got it installed I noticed there was a bunch of room and lo and behold the bar fits tightly. I cut it here so I could bolt it to the aluminum if I wanted to. That allowed me to fish it in there without dropping the skid again. You might be able to save more or even all of it.
