Sold! That looks great! Might be a little challenging for me as I already did the Oracle lights but nobody's going to see anything once you rolling or at night

Any idea how this will handle being powerwashed to remove bugs, etc? What is the best cleaning method without damaging it?

Flat black and black out letters. That's the Base grill folks! As a base owner, have to be honest I like it too.

Looks great, wanting to do this to my Badlands as well...

I take it you didn't do any sanding of the clear coat/gloss? Does that stuff adhere well to clear coat? I always thought you had to scuff up the surface a bit to get anything to stick.

Personally, I will shy away from power washing the area. The Dip Coat is supposed to help protect from Bugs/Stains, so I will continue to apply after washes. As far as cleaning, I spoke with customer service and they recommended cleaning/bug removal with Stain Delete, followed by applying Dip Coat. So that's my plan

nope, no sanding, just a thorough cleaning followed by another cleaning with the Pre Dip that comes in the kit.

My rig is going in for matte ppf soon. This looks like an awesome addition to the look.
Thx for the idea, and great job!

I'm wondering if this hyperdip would work well (and looks good) on the MIC hardtop roof panels and fender flares.

Good Afternoon! For the past week Marengo has been at the spa getting PPF/Tint, so I took advantage of the Grille being removed to do a gloss delete and replace the letters. This was my first dip of any kind, so I was surprised with a good outcome. It isn't without flaws, but for most folks, I would have to point them out.

I used the Grill/Mirror/Trim Blackout Kit from Dip Your Car in the Shadow Black Satin. I was pleased with the product itself except that I had one can go haywire and would drip all over the place when I would spray (the cause of the small flaws). I ended up with about 10 coats with the loss of the one can. I finished with two coats of Dip Coat and Oracle Letters with Tufskinz Overlays.

I masked the letter locations due to concerns of adhesion of the new letters; as luck would have it, the Blue tape that comes with the kit is exactly the right width for those areas. I just ran one continuous strip across, flipped it over and removed between the letters with an exacto. Removal of the tape went better than expected with little to no 'pull' of the dip. Go slow, and have your exacto handy to free it up at the corners and the rest pulled clean as a whistle. will post pics of the grille installed upon return of the rest of the truck! lol Cheers!

Nice. I'd never heard of Dip before. Turned out great. Thinking of doing the same to my Big Bend/Cactus Gray. The gray grill just doesnt look right to me. Cactus Gray body, black bumper and fender flares, then a different shade of gray on the grill. Black or Cactus Gray would look better. Thanks for sharing.

Ya know I ordered a 23 Mav hybrid for my daughter and we changed the color from 51 to the cactus for the very same reason, plus it looks better with mud .
