I can't seem to find a solid answer via google searches for much of the evening and this morning, but looking to know the torque for an upper intake manifold bolt on the 2.7. I accidently looked away while putting the catch can on, wasn't paying attention, and put a small snug onto the intake manifold bolt. I'd say no more than a 1/16th of a turn. I've been able to find 8 ft-lbs, but looks to be for a 2020 F150 with the 2.7.

Can someone confirm this number? Am I safe just slightly backing it off and retorquing it? Or better to just leave it where it is?

    1. NOTICE: If the engine is repaired or replaced because of upper engine failure, typically including valve or piston damage, check the intake manifold for metal debris. If metal debris if found, install a new intake manifold. Failure to follow these instructions can result in engine damage.
      Install the intake manifold and tighten the bolts in 2 stages.
      Torque:
      Stage 1: Bolts 1 through 8 in sequence:: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
      Stage 2: Bolts 8 through 1 in reverse sequence:: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
    • Attach the wiring harness retainers to the rear of the intake manifold.

Is there any issue with me every so slightly backing it off and retorquring it?

No, but I'd do it in sequence.
To confirm, you're saying i'll need to back off all 8, then retorque them in sequence?

Makes me wonder if its safer to leave it as-is?

Loosen in sequence then retorque to final value would be fine. The concern is over compressing the runner o-rings to where they deform and leak or don't have enough crush to avoid a vacuum leak.

Loosen in reverse sequence, then torque in sequence, correct?

Yes or just loosen all of them up and go through the whole sequence. Back off enough so you're below the final torque value then retighten. The preferred method would be to back off all to finger tight and go back through the two step sequence.
