Hey guys quick question...
I used to have a 2021 Mustang GT bought new and came with 460 Hp stock. The Mach 1 used to have 480 for the same model year. As you may know, a year later the same 5.0 Coyote's power was reduced to 450 hp for the GT and Mach1 was reduced to 470.
As I recall what happened was because of fuel economy regulations, they moved the MAF sensor, and also added a hydrocarbon piece of plastic right near the air filter at the stock air intake opening. On youtube some people dynoed the 22+ mustangs before and after removing that piece of plastic, and apparently they gained the extra 10 hp back.
And apparently on the 7th gen GTs with the new Coyotes, owners have removed BOTH the plastic inserts and have gained some Hp on their new cars.
So long story short my question is,
since the 6th gen Bronco was introduced in 21, did the engineers use any inserts in the intake system to hinder the output of the 2.3/2.7s on the 2022+?
Or did they know that the new harsher regulations would kick in, and from the 21s+ they reduced the output of the 2.3/2.7s from the getgo.
Is there a piece of plastic that can be removed on the 2.7s in the intake system to gain some power?
Please let me know
Thank you.
