So it looks like the options I want won't be available till MY22. I've been sifting through several post but I really haven't found a clear answer. Do I just keep my reservation in floating or do I have to contact the dealer etc?

Best to contact your dealership and let them know your intentions. They may want to convert your order to help boost their chances at an increased allocation.

You can either just keep it a reservation and then reach out to your dealer when you’re ready to finally place your order. Or as Ford recommends, you can “convert” it into an order, and have your dealer code it a 99 for “do not build.”

When the MY22 order banks open, you have your dealer modify your order as necessary, and change build code to something else.

Really, either way, you should let your dealer know you want to hold out for a MY22.

Which options specifically are you waiting for? White top? Body colored roof? ManSquach?

I was once in your shoes, but I caved and converted my reservation- with only 1 of the deadly sins and a delayed dual top.

My concern was that Ford claims these will be available for MY22, but not when. These might be late availability options for 2022. Then you are waiting possibly another year.

Either way, best of luck with your decision.

Cool, so I actually reached out to my dealer and they responded really fast. I was told to place the order but they will note it as "waiting for MY22".

All i'm waiting on was a mansquatch...I was looking at the Black Diamond since it comes standard with the rear locker at least but I'm not a fan of how the truck looks without 35's

On a side note is it normal for dealers to ask for an additional deposit?

It is certainly not uncommon. Mine was $500 refundable which I was fine with. I personally wouldn't do over $1000, and definitely nothing marked non-refundable, but that's personal preference.
