It's that time of year again when I receive my insurance bill, gnash my teeth, and ask who else is getting hosed. I know living in the city I do is a big factor here. But what's wild to me is my '08 V8 M3 is $600/yr less.

Let's try a comparison for those that want to play. I'll start:

Vehicle: '22 OBX w/premium 4-door 6cyl
Carrier: Progressive
Body/Property: $250k/person, $500k/accident, $100k/accident
Medical: 100k
Comprehensive/Collision: $500/$500

It's definitely something about my area. I was averaging about $600-800/yr on new vehicles in GA Current city has rampant auto theft/carjacking issues, so I'm sure that's also a factor. I'm early 40's, never had an at fault accident and haven't had a speeding ticket in about 16 years. /shrug

You cannot compare rates person to person. Way too many variables make up insurance premiums.
